Empowering parents of children with mental illness to reimagine parenthood, find balance and build the confidence to travel down this unexpected and frustrating path!
Hi I'm Kimberly Bloom,
I believe that every parent deserves the confidence and tools to support their child with a mental illness. Creating a home where stability and joy coexist with the ups and downs that come with mental illness. A home where parents and children can still thrive in their own unique and meaningful ways.
Hello and Welcome!
My name is Kimberly, I am so excited that you are here!
I am a proud mom to three daughters, 2 dogs and a wife to the love of my life. I am passionate about working with parents who have a teen or young adult with a mental illness. When I’m not working with parents, I love getting outside to garden, walk, hike, or ride my bike.
My journey with mental health started at age 17 when I took a part-time finance position at the local community mental health center. I really knew nothing more about mental health other than what I had seen in movies, which included being locked up in a white jacket. What? You can imagine my surprise when I learned this is not how mental health treatment works. My 17-year-old mind was blown!
Mental health became more than a job when my father started having issues during my young adult life. It became scary and very unpredictable. When my oldest daughter started having issues in her teen years, mental health basically took over my life. I did not think it could get scarier, but it did. It profoundly affected the mental health of everyone trying to support her.
Over the years, there were many times when I thought that I would be better suited for coaching and personal development. In fact, I have worked through several mentoring programs over the years. Honestly, I was burned out on life and barely keeping my head above water, trying to care for three kids and handle everything that comes with a family impacted by mental illness. Life takes a different turn when you are trying your best to get your child the help they need, keep them safe, constantly fearing the worst, and trying to raise two other healthy and thriving kids.
About a year and a half ago, the thing I feared most happened, and I found myself in the ICU with my oldest after a drug overdose. I felt completely alone and isolated. I did not know who could possibly understand my situation. It did not feel safe to share this story with anyone outside of my immediate family. It was then that I realized my calling was to work with parents in similar situations through coaching. I want parents to feel a sense of community and support throughout their journey, not the isolation, fear, frustration, and sadness that I have felt over the years.
At that point, I started researching coaching programs and found accredited Dream Life Pathways Program. Through that program, I learned so much about myself and a little bit about Cognitive and Dialectical Behavior Therapies. I was learning, benefiting from, and practicing a whole new set of coping skills. Skills that I did not learn as a child, in school, or working at the mental health center.
I am now a certified coach through the Dream Life Pathways Program and am excited to share all of the skills that I have learned over the years with you!

Coaching
Coaching aids others in making transformative life changes based on one's personal goals and life challenges. A coach will help you to create a strategy to achieve those goals, and overcome challenges along the way. It's all about supporting and guiding you to become the best version of yourself.
Group Coaching
In a group coaching program, several people come together to work on their goals with the guidance of a coach. Each session involves sharing experiences, learning from each other, and receiving support. The coach leads the group with specific topics, asking questions and providing feedback to help everyone make progress. It's a great way to grow and learn in a supportive community.
